Vesta(ウェスタ), one of the highest ranked steak restaurants in Tokyo.

The highlight is the grill that apparently cost around a million usd. You can choose what cut of beef you want and can order more if you are a savage.

It is opened with a pulley door open on the charcoal-fired brick oven, known as rogama.

They use Kishu Binchotan charcoals which is considered the world’s finest cooking charcoal.

It cooks the beef to perfection without imparting any smoke or interfering with natural flavors.

The steak is the best I’ve ever had and their dessert was one of the best I’ve had in Japan.

  1. That grill cost a million dollars? Why? Certainly doesn’t look very impressive. Gotta sell a lot of wagyu to recoup that.

  2. OrganicTransistor on

What cut of steak was the main entree? Did they say what BMS grade it was?

  3. We went with the menu that swaps seafood out for more beef dishes. It was showy and tasty, but we probably won’t do it again ($$$).

  4. Seems absurdly priced but way more interesting than the minimalist omakase you see 95% of the time

  5. Vesta is so fun, have you been to any of the other western style steakhouses like a Hirayama/Shima/Kawamura?
