One of the most unique and welcoming fine dining experiences we’ve had.

I’ll start with the service. You’re welcomed by the whole team and they truly make you feel like you’re at home. The rest of the night was the same. They take service extremely serious but it’s all fun at the same time. They are so attentive but the night was full of jokes and laughs. So unpretentious.

Food and wine were so good. Even something simple like the garDEN salad slapped hard. DENtucky fried chicken was so good. The sashimi was some of the best we’ve had. The sauce that accompanies it (seaweed and vinegar) was so addictive. Veggie stew was delicious. One of the best bites was a little sandwich with foie grois, marmalade and cucumber. Trout was delicious and cooked perfectly. The rice course really surpassed expectations. We had some unique Italian wines and sake for pairing and they were all spot on and delicious.

The food was incredible but it was the people who made it so awesome. Easily one of our favourite fine dining experiences so far.

That looks like great fun! How was the reservation process for you? Any tips?

It looks wonderful! We tried calling a few hundred times, every time getting a busy tone, then only for two times to start ringing and eventually get the call ended. Figured very little was worth that much effort

  3. Just a heads-up: See how the person to the left of you kinda re-folded their oshibori (i.e. the hand towel)? Next time, I’d encourage you to do the same.

  4. Same menu composition as previous years.

What kind of stuffing was in the Dentucky?

  5. It looks great.

For me, the unnecessary hoops you have to jump through to reserve this restaurant are so off-putting and seemingly debasing that can’t bring myself to try for a reservation.

Some of those plates are just gorgeous, especially that colorful one with the points

  7. Went there about 10 years ago. They are still doing the DFC I see. Did they still have the turtle soup? Have to say, as a turtle lover, I felt a bit conflicted.

  8. One of the best meals of my life, lucky to get reservations pre-covid and still dream about getting to back. The dog saying goodbye on the way out is icing on the cake.

Ive been to DEN 3 times and i have vividly memories of it being a very good meal.
Some snobby people will say this is a gaijin restaurant because its mostly promoted for tourist instead of it being a super hard to book kaiseki place, but f that, the food is great and thats what matters
