We are hosting a dinner party based on the movie “Chef” and to our delight, everything can be made vegetarian friendly. We are currently recipe testing as we are offering a conventional Cubano and a veg version to please everyone.

The Cubano filling is made with jackfruit and smoked tofu instead of ham. It was incredibly tasty with the correct flavour profiles and so satisfying!

I followed this recipe exactly and it took about 30 minutes which would be great for a weeknight meal or lunch:

  1. Yum! My mom and I are Cuban and for a long time we missed having Cuban sandwiches! We recently started to make them and also love using jackfruit as the pork substitute. For ham, we just use the fake “ham” slices. It tastes delicious!
