This is definitely a more casual experience than a traditional michelin starred fine dining experience, which is to say the service was not up to par what you would expect. One of our guests was running late so I made the order for them but asked to delay bringing food to the entire table before they arrived, but the food was brought anyway to an empty seat. The pacing of the dishes was also not up to par either, with the time between dishes taking way too long.
Now for the food. Overall impressions are very mixed, some of the dishes were awesome, some of them were just totally unexceptional.
1. The pumpkin and saffron foam was pretty tasty, nothing mindblowing or memorable, but perfectly enjoyable.
2. The seared shrimps were stunning! I actually wish the dish had atleast 2 shrimps, 1 small shrimp cut in half definitely felt insufficient.
3. I am not a fan of raw meat in general, so I probably wouldn’t enjoy this kind of dish no matter how good it was. Overall this was pretty good, and tasted very fresh.
4. The pasta was slightly disappointing to be honest. While the ragu was top tier, the pasta itself felt a little undercooked.
5. My second favorite dish of the night. The sauce was a little too sour, but the fish completely melted in the mouth.
6. This pre-dessert just did not work for me. The pear itself was delicious, but the balsamic vinegar at the bottom of the dish was just a bizarre choice. The mix of flavours did not work for me at all.
7. Excellent Tiramisu. Nothing ground breaking or inventive, but just solid and delicious tiramisu,
Overall it is a ok visit for the price but I am not sure if I would personally give this restaurant a star. Especially disappointing given the pedigree of Massimo Bottura.

This looks so basic…and not worth the $120 no offence
And ofc it’s from Dubai. They probably bought that star 😭

Portions seems underwhelming to me, reminds me of cash grabs restaurant in Vegas. Big chef name restaurant, absolute worst dining experience.

For some reason it’s the bread basket that made me the most annoyed at this. It just looks so blah, and bread is so easy to zhuzh up

Is that three whole peas with the prawn?

Really underwhelming but thanks for sharing.
Dubai stars a total sham tbh outside of Hoseki which stands on its own. Most other stars are just chefs cashing in on their name (which is totally fine) and don’t pay as much attention
