Diner tonight at Koke in Kyoto. In one word: stellar. The food was absolutely spectacular. We felt the balance between the European base style and the Japanse precision and subtlety was really gorgeous. Favorites were the spot prawn, the Mozuku and the duck. The only course we were less impressed with was the root beer.
Overall a great 1* experience and I wouldn’t be surprised when a second star drops. Excellent wine list.
The best meal so far in Japan and one of the best 1* experiences we had overall.

I went for lunch. Only complaint is that they are very stingy with their non alcoholic beverage pairing. You get a bigger wine pairing pour lol.
