  1. Hi diners, my first post here after lurking for months!

Desde 1911 is the realization of a dream by the current-generation owners of the storied Madrilenian fishmonger Pescaderías Coruñesas to create a restaurant whose offerings evolve each day according to the best seafood and fish available from their extensive supply chain. In the kitchen, chef Murciego and his team treats their ingredients with respect and precision, making dishes with sensitive combinations that highlight and never obfuscate the quality of the produce. In the front of house, they have mastered the art of dining room theatrics that added a performative dimension to the whole experience. It all made for a wonderful meal.

The menu format is really simple. You can choose to have 3, 4, or 5 starters before the fish of the day (standard for all diners), cheese cart, and dessert cart. Obviously if you have it problem with seafood this place is decidedly not for you. I find it very fairly priced at 170E for even the longest menu. There are also supplements for rare and pricey delicacies like caviar and angulas (baby eels).

Looks utterly incredible! Wow! Seafood is my favourite and this looks so fresh and beautiful prepared.

The thick cube of toast is certainly trending in a lot of fine dining places right now! Very appetising.

  3. This place is incredible. I love how they start off with the smoked salmon, it is to die for. I wonder why it doesn’t have any stars?

All looks so fresh and delicious! Have been to Madrid once for few days, and I can tell you that although the city is an interior one but it had great typical seafood dishes.

  5. I went to Spain about 5 years ago and ticked a bunch of restaurants off my wish list but it just keeps getting longer. Great pics, thanks for sharing.
