Stayed last year at Singlethread Inn. The breakfast was better than dinner in my opinion. The Inn itself is nice but now it is around 2k usd a night which im not sure if it’s worth it.

The food itself was cooked well, lots of Japanese inspirations but I personally prefer traditional Japanese kaiseki.

Going back again later this month but not staying at inn this time.

  1. Given your comments about your previous experience, I’m curious – what’s motivating you to return?

  2. Is their breakfast available to the public? Or it is only offered to the inn guests?

  3. I went last year for my birthday and I totally agree on breakfast being better than dinner. I’m super curious about the in-room dinner, though it does feel like a waste to give up the regular dinner (since a spot is reserved for inn guests) and no way am I staying more than 1 day to take advantage of the room dinner at that price haha.

Any chance you took advantage of the in-room happy hour service?

  4. I’m surprised so many comments don’t think the inn is worth it! I love staying there. The service and small attention to detail makes it worth it to me, never mind the breakfast being included! Their concierge can also help you get into/discover very small production wineries you might not have known about otherwise.

The in room dining was also spectacular- definitely a meal I won’t forget! The coziness and intimacy of it too made it really special, and of course the food was downright beautiful.

2k is insane. Went there in 2022 and it was 1k/night. Much more worth it. Place is great though I’d go again if it wasn’t so damn expensive 😂

Heading here in October and dying to try the breakfast! Not sure if we’re going to manage the room rate though if it’s $2k+!
