Bottom up:

Italian bread

Calabrian mayo

Provolone

Mortadella

Capicola

Salami

Prosciutto

Salted tomatoes

Shredded lettuce / red onion / pepperoncini – all three tossed in olive oil, salt, pepper, red wine vinegar, and dried oregano/basil/majoram/saye

Calabrian mayo

Italian bread

Extra notes: have your deli slice all the meat extremely thin, cut all your veggies extremely thin, soak your red onions to draw out the bite in their taste, pile the mortadella in little pillows/roses instead of flat. I do 2oz mortadella and 1oz of the other meats and cheese to 3-4oz of bread.
