  1. How is it? I love seafood and have had this place flagged for a little bit.

Huh, my comments didn’t post AND it won’t let me edit. This restaurant was FANTASTIC! Right on the English Channel, with an opportunity to sit outside at the beginning and end. We love seafood, and it was all exquisite. There was maybe one course I didn’t love. This was, by far, the prettiest meal I have ever had, the most well-paced for fine dining (the time just flew by, and pacing was a problem at many of our recent fine dining dinners), I was able to eat everything, which is not always the case. The service was lovely. The menu was more poetic than descriptive. I took notes of what they told us each dish was, but as usual, with so many ingredients, background noise, accents, etc., I couldn’t get everything. But happy to answer any questions to the extent my notes come through.

    This was a lovely experience.

Note that it is not super convenient to anything, and there are no Ubers or public transportation to speak of in this part of France. I almost cancelled for this reason; we had a car, but I had a zero alcohol policy for driving it. I emailed the hotel that Le Coquillage is in, and they gave me the number of a driver who lives right by the restaurant. He was the sweetest French grandpa and indulged me and our son in extended French practice. He took us to and from our hotel in Saint-Malo, took a credit card, and couldn’t have made it easier.
