Trying out one of the most expensive tasting menu in Paris and didn’t knew what to expect but here’s my experience

Staff gave me a warm welcome and proceed to show my table and brought a welcome drink which was made of watermelon, ginger and lemon and some snacks most notable was the lentil soup drinking a soup with straw was amusing (?)

They offer alacarte, lunch tasting menu which was for 260€ and I opted for longer tasting menu which cost for 680€ Only dish which wasn’t on alacarte or longer tasting menu which might be exclusive to lunch menu was Tuna

The wine list was HUGE like it was so fat it needs its own table I had to bottle of meursault . The tomatoes were one of my favorites it was salty umami rich sweet with course pepper on top was just hit the right spot and chef guy savoy himself was visiting each and every table I got a kitchen tour and picture with him chef can speak English but I still was trying to use my broken French😭

I got 2 extra dishes which aren’t on menu or part of menu
First was beans with poached egg and on side a piece of toast drizzled with wild garlic oil
Second was langoustine creame which taste very similar to what I had in le pre Catelan and even they ask me to drink like a coffee
Oyster seems underwhelming for me it seems tad bit too salty for my liking (I do like oysters it just didn’t hit well for me)

Colours of caviar and artichoke soup was perfect
The smoked sabayon with salty caviar and every layer seems to be of different temperature bring party to my mouth

Artichoke soup is straight up delicious and thing is I never had good artichoke dish and I loved it so much they even give you bit extra serving and mushroom brioche so fluffy soft and had truffles too

Raw cooked lobster was very similar to what I had in table by Bruno verjus lobster Thermidor but slightly better cause of that crisp lobster layer on carrot and the sauce

There were so many dessert it seems first a palate cleanser next we had raspberry with lime sorbet and basil and my favorites chocolate all form of chocolate ya expect you can find from. Tart to crispy to flaky to liquid

And the trolley of desserts so many choices I pick rice pudding with vanilla ,cookies, almond sorbet

And the lunch ended with earl grey tea sorbet as digestif I literally could stuff anything I literally couldn’t drink last few sips of wine

I’d say it’s definitely one of the best meals I had never had the experience when it was 3 stars so can’t really comment on that why it become 2 star but the quality, service and food seems on par with 3 stars

Fine dining newbie here, kind of a stupid question — but, how do you know if the rind of the cheese is edible? I feel too stupid to ask, and kind of just assume that whatever is on my plate should be edible.

    Excellent, glad you enjoyed it!

I went for the cheaper lunch menu when I was there, which didn’t feature the cheese cart or that lovely looking chocolate dessert.

For the combination of quality and quantity of the food and drinks, plus the service (and meeting Chef Savoy), it is very hard to top. Definitely 3* level for me as well.

  3. I wonder if this is the most expensive non-omakase tasting menu other than Alchemist?
