I am about to build my first curing chamber. The plan is to modify a fridge that I got for free but unfortunately it has one of those built in freezer compartments on top. The door of the compartment is removable. My question is what to do with it: keep it closed or opened. If I keep it opened my worry is that it will accumulate moisture there due to condensation. If closed it will be just a waste of cooling power. I’ve considered cutting the bottom open but I am not sure what is there and cannot find schematics anywhere (model is AEG SFB51221DS). Plus side is that the fridge has a nice built ing fan. Any and all help and advice will be be appreciated!

Not a good idea. When I did this when the unit turned off the frost from the freezer melted and rained on my product getting it slimy and I had to toss a whole batch of landjager
