More casual than a lot of the restaurants posted here, but the chef is a James Beard award winner and I thought the meal was outstanding.

  1. Sun sugar tomatoes with cucumber, Fresno pepper, and blackberry
  2. Chilled sweet corn soup with crab (my favorite dish, the soup was so intensely corn flavored and went perfectly with the crab. Summer in a bowl!)
  3. Hamachi crudo
  4. Beef tartare with cheddar, caviar, and potato pave
  5. Maitake tempura
  6. Pork trotter with cucumber nuoc cham, smoked quail egg, and avocado puree (one of my favorite dishes at any restaurant)
  7. Carrots with beet, tahini, and dill—almost tasted like deconstructed borscht!

My favorite restaurant! I ate there every night for a week when I was in Madison back in July.

Woah had to double check this wasn’t the Madison subreddit! Love this place. So cozy on the inside too. You’d never expect food like this from such a homey neighborhood spot. I’ve heard the chefs are great dudes too.
Idk what the hell they’re doing to those pork trotters but they’re incredible.

  3. I’m so glad someone posted a Madison restaurant! I love the Madison food scene. Love Fairchild. Mint mark Ahan Etc. so many good places.

  4. I’m just a casual observer of this subreddit who enjoys cooking at home. To be frank, a fair amount of pics posted in this subreddit don’t look appetizing to me (although I’m sure most taste excellent).

    This looks fucking fire
