For only 2 calories I can increase the volume of my oatmeal by 30% and get 50% of my daily fiber. Add 2 Tbsp to 1/2 cup of dry oatmeal and add liquid till you get the thickness you want. You can also replace about 1/3 of the flour in cookies with this and save calories that way. I love this stuff!

  1. The other benefit is that I feel full longer because oat fiber is insoluble and isn’t digested. You can probably add it to smoothies, too, but I haven’t tried that yet. You could of course use other fiber sources like psyllium or glucomannan, but those are soluble fiber and have slightly higher calories.

  2. This also makes amazing American style pancakes instead of flour! I do 45g of this, 4tbsn of yoghurt, sprinkle of salt, half a tsp of baking powder and the equivalent of one egg. Let it sit for fifteen mins before adding batter to the pan and it’s amazing. Lot less calories too!

  3. There is a channel called oat fiber on YouTube showing some recipes you can do with it and it’s really incredible!

  4. What’s the difference between this and xanthan gum? I know it’s probably a stupid question but I’m looking for ways to feel fuller. Some days I’m just a bottomless pit!

  5. YES I LOVE OAT FIBER omygoodness

    Sweet!!

Has anyone suffered any digestive issues with this? I overdid it with hemp seeds one time and… What a disaster! Curious if this has any similar “dangers”?
