  1. How do you get the marinade and spices to the center of the tofu? Or does it just taste very plain in the middle?

  2. It’s been 40 mins. You haven’t answered any questions or provided a “recipe in post”. How dare you do this to us.

  3. Doesn’t look too appetizing. Would need to be pressed extremely well, and marinated a long time. Even then, idkk

    OP Why this cooking method?
Portioning your tofu into “steaks” and then doing either a rub or marinade, then searing them on a grill or roasting them, would give you a more enjoyable result with a more uniform flavor profile and mouth feel. This just seems like a meat-style application being applied to tofu, which will obvi cook differently than a meat would.

  5. I put cubed tofu naked into the airfryer and eat them as I’m still taking them out, burning my tongue every time. AMA

  6. whats the stuff behind the broccolini and tofu?
    not weird!

There’s a lot of tricks for tofu.
I would recommend Isa Chandra Moskowitz, Derek Sarno, Marys Test Kitchen, From My Bowl/Caitlin Shoemaker, and Sarah’s Vegan Kitchen. Oh, also Hot For Food/Lauren Toyota

The first one has a lot of cookbooks, the rest are on youtube although Derek Sarno has a cookbook. Lauren Toyota used to have a great youtube presence but also has excellent cookbooks for vegans who want to eat tasty stuff

Just some recs from a vegan of 8+ years

I would like this slices season and served with gravy. Then again I love tofu, plain and raw. I also love gravy, but that’s another story

I bought a tofu press to make my own spiced tofu since the Asian market I go to doesn’t carry it anymore. I might do this when I get my tofu-making going.
