It's pretty hard losing weight with Nigerian cuisine as most of the meals are carb-heavy and oily.
I however am determined to do it this time and keep the weight off permanently. Wish me luck!
P.S: here's what I had for dinner (2 noodle packs with vegetables, eggs and grilled fish)

That’s around 1000 calories, maybe as much as 1200.
Are you only eating that one meal today?
as a fellow nigerian, 100% it’s so hard to lose weight with our cuisine. even having white rice and stew, i have to make sure to limit how much rice i have due to the stew having so much oil. it’s difficult, but not impossible!! best of luck to the both of us
Same with Indian cuisine. All of our meals are carb based.

I felt the same way with Indian food, but I wasn’t about to give up my cultural cuisine. I just had to learn how to proportion my plate differently (turns out you CAN eat less rice and still live), and now I don’t feel like I have to listen to Weird White Diet Culture.
