This is kidney beans soaked overnight and then cooked with Cajun mirepoix (frozen mix of onions, red and green bell peppers, celery, and parsley) with garlic, paprika, thyme, oregano, and a bay leaf. When the beans are done cooking, after about 2 hours, I mash up one bowl and put it back in to get the velvety texture, and at that point I also add one and a half teaspoons of salt and two tablespoons of olive oil. Served with basmati rice.

  2. While it might taste good, I do not think this is food porn. I thought food porn was something that looks good and looks appetizing. I think a lot of folks forget that when they post here.

  3. Damn you just solved my meal prep questions for the week! I’m a cheater tho so I will be using canned kidney beans. (It’s what I have on hand.)
