Found this study says that resistance training helped conserve metabolism during weight loss. Or as they put it ” Resistance training (RT) conserved Fat free mass (FFM) , resting energy expenditure ( REE), and strength fitness when compared to women who aerobic trained (AT) or did not train.”

  1. I’ve read that resistance training is also good for preventing cognitive decline as we grow older, so that seems like a major benefit.

I’ve only been doing aerobic exercise, so this made me re-think my routine. Will probably do resistance every other day? and aerobic on non-resistance days? Does it matter?

  2. I’m curious too. I have some resistance bands but no clue what to do with them. I’m a 48 year old trying to get stronger for my later years and no idea where to start!
