Me and a friend are going to build a chamber for curing meats based off of this guide:
https://elevatedwild.com/elevatedwildblog/diy-curing-chamber
We’re going to use a bar fridge with a glass, I realize that light going in could cause problems so we’ve decided to get a magnetic blind for it to stop that and so when we feel like it to look in
We’re also going to put a Raspberry Pi in there with temperature and humidity sensors to create some graphs for our curing.
We’re doing this for science and also because we feel like it’d be something funny to do, my question is, is there anything wrong with this or anything we should look out for?

I think a fermentation station would be more appreciated.
Perfect I would guess you don’t have room for a full size fridge just make sure to get one that doesn’t have a freezer another thing that will help out tremendously is to learn the equilibrium method to cure and you’ll never lose a product from too much salt. If you have any questions after researching the eq method shoot me a dm
as long as it complies with the dorms safety codes I don’t see what the problem is

The dorms that had hung meat were always popular at my college.
My bar fridge’s Raspberry Pi also controls a humidifier. I’m using a DME280 for the sensor (temp, humidity, and for free it spits out dew point which is interesting to look at).
(I went overboard and built a new door, with built-in circulation fans to keep air moving. They pull in fresh air through a HEPA filter. Just invade you want to go overboard for science ;))
