This was the 10 course tasting at Saint Germain in New Orleans. Courses are pictured in order they were served, with a bonus course of Fried Shiso Leaf, there is also a palate cleaner course of a sorbet before the desserts.

Food was very good, but did not beat the only other fine dining experience I’ve had at Atera in NYC. Surprisingly, the desserts were the stand outs on this menu, absolutely stunning flavors and could have eaten the dessert courses three times over.

The panna cotta dessert was smoked with hay smoke and the lemon and smoked maple created such a great tasting dish.

I got the truffle add on (35$) for the Guinea fowl course which obscured the rest of the dish photo wise.

Overall, would suggest this restaurant for a good experience, probably hovers in the one star Michelin category if I was making a wildly inexperienced guess.

First post to this subreddit, hope everyone enjoys!

  1. I enjoyed Saint Germain, but like you, the food didnt really wow me that much.

It is important to keep it all in context though, $135 for an enjoyable 10 course menu with excellent service is a bit of a bargain in 2023, especially compared to somewhere like Atera at 2.5x the cost.
