I missed out on reservations when they first opened up in February but got lucky and found one two days before. The location is very unassuming and a quick Uber from downtown.
9 out of 10- This was my 10th (still active) three star- Everything was absolutely on point but nothing really popped like at others (EMP, Fat Duck, Cellar). My buddy and I agreed that the highlight was the uni dish (12′ in the ‘Squeaker ‘ photo).
As an added bonus, Grant Achantz came out and prepared the deconstructed banana split dessert for us. I’m not sure if they were short-staffed but this was a really special moment.

If I ever make it to Chicago, this is top of my list.
Looks really interesting, and again piques my interest. I have to het those smoking fish plates, though!
If anyone hasn’t seen the Chef’s Table episode about Alinea, it’s worth a watch!
I’m going to Chicago in July for a business trip and I got cancer last year. Alinea is the very top of my bucket list (I saw Yo Yo Ma perform the Bach Cello Suites in person, that *was* the top).
Thank you for sharing your experience!
When do reservations open?
