This was our first Michelin star experience (last year spring). I looked at different options in Lyon, and this seemed to suit our likings the best. We are quite accustomed to fine dining but our experience was not the best here. Maybe it was just a bad night for the restaurant, but I expected more.
The food was great, however, the service was absolutely horrible and the ambience was subpar. We did the tasting menu.
The waitstaff couldn’t speak English, not an issue, we’re in France but it came to the point where they stopped bothering to explain. We speak very little French but would still sort of at least understand it a bit. The sommelier was the only one who could speak English fluently but she said she couldn’t come to our table when every dish came out as she was busy, sure no problem. We had to ask 3 times for the glass of wine I ordered. The ambience, oh dear, the lights were so damn bright.
