    That looks great!

You could make veggie chili, veggie tacos, veggie dumplings, veggie spaghetti, bolognese, veg meatballs, and veggie sloppy joes.

  2. Pies. The answer is always pies. I would blitz the rehydrated pieces in a food processor down to a slightly smaller shredded size, then make a 50:50 veggie:tvp mix with a thick onion gravy. Peas, potato, carrot, mixed herbs.

  3. Dumpling, biscuits and gravy, pozole, chili, tacos, fried rice, stir fry, noodles, shawarma, subs, pasta, soups, etc…

Pretty much anything you want some meat chunks on. As a vegan cook you learn to just kinda throw whatever veg/protein you got into any kind of dish, as long as you properly sauce/season it.

Please check these bags very carefully. I bought the exact same brand from Amazon. I’d used about 5 bags, had the rest stored under my kitchen counter (sealed, never opened). I opened my cabinet door one day recently and saw hundreds of little bugs crawling around. I couldn’t find the source until I started taking the unopened bags of TVP out to see what was going on.

Inside of almost all of them were the same little bugs crawling around. How they got in there I don’t know, and how they got out I don’t know either. I examined every bag closely, they were all completely sealed as far as I could find.

I contacted Amazon, and even though it was past the return window, they kindly gave me a credit for 1/2 of what I spent on the 12 bags.

TLDR- sealed bags had bugs. Threw 7 bags away.

  5. I really enjoy sauteing rehydrated tvp chunks in a fair amount of oil and sausage spices (fennel, sage, coriander, salt and pep, chipotle powder… I just raid my spice rack) and putting them in breakfast burritos/burrito bowls.

  6. If you add it to chili do not add beans. Once went to a cookout and someone made chili with TVP and beans. 10 minutes after eating created intense gas, ala Blazing Saddles. We were all guys so didn’t matter.

Chili. Basic chili recipe but use TVP instead of meat.

Dirty rice. Fry up the TVP with some corn, beans, onions, peppers, etc. also cook some rice. Then mix it all together and add salsa. Simmer for a bit until it gets thick.

    Use it in stews.

There’s so many uses my dude lol

  8. Lasagna, cabbage rolls, chili, stuffed peppers, mapo tofu, and meatless loaf!

Eta: thought of another one- char siu bao! Cook the TVP with char siu sauce and onions and make a ton of bao. Once cooked you can freeze them and then heat them up in the microwave whenever for snacking.

  9. Bell peppers filled with TVP and different veggies baked in an oven with potatoes marinated in paprika and other spices.
