Revisited Aquavit for lunch. It was excellent on my last visit 18 months ago but WOW was this stellar. For under $200 (including a glass of wine, before tip), it’s an inordinately generous meal in every way. Service was perfection. Highly recommend.

Final image (served before the cheese course): Duck, duck jus, green apple puree, cabbage stuffed with barley. That cabbage was amazing. Perfectly balanced sweetness, pickling, seasoned skin, etc. I asked for a spoon to get all of that before the plate was cleared.

And the Bird’s Nest is simply the best dessert ever created. As delicious as it is beautiful. That plate should be on your culinary bucket list.

Was this the regular tasting menu, not full chef’s tasting? I had a completely different chef’s tasting except for birds nest awhile ago and it remains one of my favorite meals in NYC.

  3. I don’t understand why people are so meh on Aquavit – it’s just simple goodness in the food, down to earth and friendly servers, and a world class signature in the Arctic Birds Nest. Truly one of my favorite meals in my life, happy memories
