Used Morningstar ‘beef’ crumbles and cooked that up with two onions and put in some of the pasta water in the sauce so its a little thinner, otherwise I followed the recipe.
Update- talked to my mom and she said to add in milk to the sauce to keep it creamy and not so thick, will do that next time!

It’s not bad. But I’m still looking for the holy grail with this dish.
Morningstar Crumbles are my favorite. Once upon a time, there was egg in the recipe. I wrote and told them they could increase their vegetarian audience by leaving the egg out.
To this day, I don’t know if it was my idea or their idea…

Would Cream of Asparagus soup or anything other than mushroom still taste good? My brain can’t decide – has anyone tried?

I make a mean stroganoff with mushrooms, onion, and celery. The texture and savory flavor is perfect.

It looks delicious and perfect for rainy days.

Made this tonight after seeing this. Damn, it was so good, we just used mushrooms and it has a beautiful savoury taste.

I hated stroganoff growing up and my family loved it, it was usually from a box. Determined to try it again I made it from scratch with just mushroom and found a recipe using white wine to deglaze. Highly recommend and is now one of my go-tos. I would also love to use Gardein’s b’ef tips to see how that tastes. This recipe seems super simple!!

For extra kick I’d add Dijon mustard and Maggi (or Worcestershire)

My mom always made this over rice. Super nostalgic dish for me. MSG really adds a lot to this dish if you’re making it vegetarian.

Love how different it looks compared to what is consumed and sold as “stroganoff” in my country. Ours is much more saucy and is usually eaten with rice and shoestring potatoes. Will definitely give it a try!
