I am vegan so this is even more alarming. I’m worried even if I get options that are really known to be vegan. I don’t even trust that these people know what they’re doing or CARE!!! I am going with family so they just told me basically the buffet option would be the best bet for me which is just ridiculous while I am paying an all inclusive fee DAILY for just food.

  1. SmackyTheBurrito on

And the green bean salad has prosciutto. Ham being considered vegetarian is pretty crazy.

  2. Tell them your eating restrictions before you go. A good resort will accommodate, if you give advanced notice.

But yeah, travel can be tough when it comes to dietary differences

  3. I was almost going to defend the restaurant, thinking maybe they counted pescatarian as vegetarian, but that was before noticing the prosciutto, etc. (And are the croutons & toast really gluten-free?) I’ve visited the DR and although I didn’t stay in a resort, I had no problem finding vegetarian options. Vegan may be more challenging, but do make your wishes known when you get to the resort as others have suggested. Then relax and enjoy!

  4. This actually does look like a mistake as they put both symbols for all meals. Like the GF heart next to the mussels…served with bread lol it could be a coding error!

  5. I think it’s a “can be made vegan” “can be gluten free” situation. Otherwise someone effed up big on both.

  6. I don’t know why you are complaining, they apparently have vegetarian prosciutto. These meat substitutes sure have come a long way. /s

This is just ridiculous, I don’t even know who in their right mind marked that as a vegetarian option. Also their gluten free options sound super sketchy.

Best of luck OP, sounds like an *interesting* resort.
