    Ingredients

1 12 ounce container whipped cream cheese

    30 wonton wrappers

3 “crab” cakes. Chopped small. I used Good Catch

    1 thinly sliced green onion

Salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste.

    Cooking oil to fry

Mix all the fillings together, then spoon a small amount into each wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of wrapper and fold into desired shape. I tried a few different shapes here to see what I like best. Then fry in cooking oil, I used Canola.

These are amazing! I haven’t really had crab rangoons, only cream cheese ones. But these are addictive! Way easier than I thought but it does take some time to fold all the wonton and fry them

  2. I’ve seen a version of this that uses hearts of palm instead of crab. It’s very interesting

I can eat the rangoons at my local buffet again because they stopped using even the imitation crab made from cod. It’s just fried cream cheese now LOL

  4. Love this. We make them with cream cheese and candied jalapenos (cowboy candy) now. Just delicious.

  5. I make rangoon with shredded canned hearts of palm. Really hits the shredded texture of imitation crab spot on.

Fun fact! Crabs are dying at an alarming rate due to climate change and very soon this just might be the way rangoons are. I guess that fact wasn’t very fun actually. *depressing fact!
