Me and my wife went there yesterday and we had the bar tasting menu. It was good. Some courses were super flavorful, the juice pairing is super creative and they match almost perfectly with the courses. Nice interpretation of Korean food and a quite casual experience (we did interact a lot with the bartender and the chef, super cool people).

My favorite courses:

– king crab, smoked trout roe, dubu cream (1st picture). The accentuated smokiness of this course, from the smoked trout roe to the aroma of the mezcal added to the juice, brought me an extra excitement for what was yet to come and instigated my appetite. Unfortunately I had to wait until the main course to feel any sort of satisfaction (I’d say that as a first course it almost felt like a gift and a curse);

– yellowtail, radish flower, miyeok, grilled pepper sauce (4th picture). I feel like the juice here played an important role as it was made with yellow bell pepper (and it matched so well with the grilled pepper sauce from the meal). Also the crunchiness and accentuated texture from the radish flower was a perfect addition to it, giving a full experience of flavors and textures in one single course;

– mushroom rice, presa iberica, shiso (8th and 9th pictures). The presentation, the taste and textures of the protein and how the rice finally brought the satisfaction I was looking for since the first course. This one was my favorite of all.

But I left with a feeling that there was something missing and maybe it was the food presentation and a the lack of a wider range of flavor profiles.
I still reminisce the experience I had back at Geranium a couple of months ago and I had my expectations too high.
