  1. A somewhat under the radar two star restaurant in the Vesuvian foothills. It’s Italy–plan for plenty of time for dinner! Strikingly beautiful restaurant, especially the exterior garden/tables. Would love to try lunch here to see it in the sunlight. Service was effortless and friendly, was slightly surprised at the front of house’s English level but I get the idea there aren’t many tourists out here. Presentation was very good without doing anything too avant garde. The amuse bouche was exceptional, filled with delicious and complex flavors in each small bite. Unfortunately while the rest of the meal was good or even great, it felt a bit lacking in comparison with the high note of the first course. Still overall great experience, and would definitely check it out! Price was pretty good too for this kind of value, even with it recently being raised to 170/190/230 for the various menu options. For some reason they also had a (unadvertised) 10 euro pp cover charge.

At one point I put my fork on the table after eating the green pasta which left a green mark on the tablecloth…when I came back from the bathroom later they had laid a small cloth patch on top of the stain lol
