I’m an idiot, this is from last night, not today.

I managed to get a same day reservation for three here and since I owed my friend I figured I’d take him out for this and he brought along another friend who paid for himself (friend was Indian).

The experience was good, not great. I think Indian food would be better suited as a tasting menu of smaller bites rather than a la carte.

Dosa – It was good, overrated in my opinion. The sauces were good and the dal was the highlight in my opinion. Spice level was mild to medium. The restaurant suggests splitting food but the filling the dosa was uneven and as a result my friend and I kind of had to destroy the dosa to manage somewhat balanced servings which made it a little annoying to eat.

Oxtail – Very tender, medium spice level and good amount of meat. Enjoyed this course. Flavors came through the spiciness well.

Venison – Honestly this may have been my favorite. I never imagined venison could be done this tender, spiciness was on point (also medium), rich curry and very filling.

Parotta – Just okay. Could have been softer not falling apart but given two for $6 it’s not sinful I guess.

Service was okay, nothing special, nothing terrible. Including tip the price came out to $77 each for my friend and I. The Indian friend liked the chicken and couldn’t finish it, taking half home.

Final thoughts – I love heat and thought the spiciness was on point, I felt full afterwards and felt the price was okay (given that it is NYC).

I felt the 4.2 on google maps is an appropriate score.

  2. It’s too expensive for food looking like that. On the bright side, at least the quantity is fine.
