  1. I went here with my husband for our anniversary dinner. It was definitely a good experience and I would return. Had been looking forward to going here for a while since they have a sister bar, Liliana, which has really superb cocktails. We opted for cocktails with our dinner. Unfortunately I didn’t get pictures of them all, but my favorite was probably my husband’s martini.

The menu was very seafood heavy, which was not what I was expecting since I didn’t look it up ahead of time and the restaurant is known for cooking over an open flame. The dishes were overall well seasoned. I enjoyed the opening oyster and other cold seafood first course very much. They paired it with a complimentary Bloody Mary cocktail. Overall, it was a creative take on seafood, and a lot of attention was put into ingredients and service.

I enjoyed this dinner more than French Laundry, but it is a lot different experience. We were seated at a long communal table but away from other diners so we didn’t feel cramped. The restaurant has a more modern feel. Probably a ** experience.

Too bad it’s known among industry folks that the chef is horrible to work for and he was fired from Bar Agricole for harassment. But as long as it’s expensive food served on artisan plates, SF “foodies” will always LOVE IT.
