  1. Dined at Geranium the evening after noma last weekend and enjoyed an extraordinary meal with bold flavors, incredible technique and gorgeous plating. The dishes were deceivingly simple in appearance, most were layered with texture and ingredients. The progression worked particularly well and ending the savory courses with a vegetarian dish was a lovely soft landing into dessert. Only fish, shellfish and vegetables are served here.

One common complaint is that the service staff at Geranium is stiff and formal. While we certainly saw that in the dining room, our service team was pleasant, casual and had as much fun as we did with the menu. Sitting at the Kitchen Table does not come with an additional cost but is usually unavailable for booking and reserved. Simply securing the table I think indicates higher interest from the diner and led to the heavy interaction and enjoyment we had with Chef Rasmus during the meal. Sending the supplemental course with his compliments was an amazing touch.

My only negative note would be the saucework. While stunning, many of the sauces seemed to have a similar base and lacked a touch of variety not in flavor, but in style and consistency. All sauced dishes were done tableside and the flourish of presentation was fantastic.

  2. Really appreciate the full rundown of the meal and all the stellar pictures in the album. Of all the meals I have seen on this subreddit, this one really struck a chord with the presentation and delicateness of all of the dishes. Wishing I could eat the pictures….

Out of curiosity, how would you rank the CPH Big 3 and how do you think they compare to other Scandinavian options?
