If you are at a bar and don’t know what to order that’s low cal, I think this would be a safe bet. It’s already low cal compared to some other cocktails, but if you make it at home it’s more diet friendly.

    I modified a recipe from liquor.com:

    Ingredients

    3 mint leaves

1/2 ounce sugar-free simple syrup (see recipe below)

    2 ounces white rum

3/4 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed

    Club soda, to top

    Garnish: mint sprig

    Garnish: lime wheel

    Steps

Lightly muddle the mint with the simple syrup in a shaker.

Add the rum, lime juice and ice, and give it a brief shake,
then strain into a highball glass over fresh ice.
Alternatively, you can use pebble ice instead and
    gently swizzle it all together.

    Top with the club soda.

Garnish with a mint sprig and lime wheel.

Sugar-free simple syrup is just 1/2 cup of Splenda in 1 cup water that is heated to simmer then cooled. Should be enough for at least a few cocktails.
