Tried the three course dinner tasting menu for four at Le Pavillion. Quite an interesting place; gets very busy and somewhat loud. Service is satisfactory but not exceptional (I had to flag down the server on a couple occasions). Also service seemed uncoordinated.
I tried the vegetarian options. They started with the amuse-bouche which was actually delicious and then came the first course – onion tart – delicious.
For the main, I chose artichoke stuffed with black winter truffle and charred broccolini (see picture). I loved the truffle and the sauce but the artichoke itself wasn’t memorable (although tasted and looked great). The dessert was elderflower rice pudding with strawberries, which was outstanding and my favourite.
Overall, a bit on the pricier side with alcohol. Glad for the experience but not the best. 7/10
