Been a lurker on here.
This was last year at Bo Innovation 2 michelin star. Hong Kong.

I really loved how Chef Alvin Leung incorporated some old school HK special dinnerware in the meals. Reminded me of my childhood in HK. Chef Leung walks around during dinner to make sure the guests have a great experience.

He uses 11 famous Chinese Art as theme for the dishes.

Good ambiance. Fun. And definitely a good experience on fine dining, HK style. It is around $170 usd per person, good value imo.
The dumpling is extra cost.

  1. It’s probably been about half a year since I went, but I thought it was just okay. Nothing really stood out on the menu (other than the goldfish dish with the clear box) and tbh i think i might remember the art/concept it was served after, which was admittedly well executed, more than the food, food service was atrociously slow i think we were there for literally 4 hours (not because food was consistently coming or because the restaurant was full, neither was the case). I just didn’t think the food was that tasty, everyone’s tastes are different though and I hope service isn’t always that slow. Also the restaurant was frigid, bring a jacket you don’t mind wearing at the table, by hour 2 I was going to the restroom just to try to warm up.

Bo Innovation was one of the first to incorporate nostalgic HK flavors into a creative menu. Have started visiting over 20 years ago when they were still known as Bo Innoseki. Still very good food while they were at Ice House Street in Central and used to go once every few months. After their move to Wan Chai and expansion into UK and other places, things just went downhill. Last visit was during Covid and it just wasn’t that good. Vea is doing a much better job of incorporating childhood HK flavors

I was there three years ago. Food was good, for sure. But I felt if you didn’t grow up in HK, then you couldnt really experience what the chef wants you to.

It was still a good meal, just not super memorable for me since I didnt realate to much (or any!) of it.

  4. Went there over 10 years ago and at that time, it was interesting/innovative in terms of concept and theatre. Food was average imo

London meal back when it was open was disappointing, albeit with a few star dishes.
