Wow! Second stop on our DC visit and we were blown away.

Not pictured: corn grits and the American wagyu – I got too excited and dug in before snapping a picture, apologies.

Pictured but not on menu: Fried catfish sliders. Our server grabbed this extra snack for us with our wine pairing. It was divine.

Highlights: The cucumber and scallop snack, pickled oysters on ciabatta, pork loin (particularly paired with the wrapped pork sausage), the best bite of beans I’ve ever had in my life, and the sorbet

The other courses were all great as well but likely not to stick with me for a long time. I wish I hadn’t been quite so stuffed when we got to the grilled peaches and scones as I think I would’ve appreciated them more – a little too heavy for me for a final dish.

The Dabney probably had the best atmosphere of any restaurant we’ve visited thus far (we’re still green, this is only our fourth Michelin experience). We had the pleasure of being seated right in front of the chefs counter. I can’t recommend it enough. I don’t know that we will be back as there are so many other DC spots still on our list but I’m super thankful we got to have the experience.
