One of the favorites of this subreddit when it comes to Paris especially when you think there’s so many restaurants of very high calibre, always on recommendation discussion and for very good reason

Here’s my experience

Restaurant was very easy to locate even during Olympics just a small walk away from Charles de gaulle etoile station

Welcome seems less warmer maybe it was a vibe thing but it started to get warmed up quickly they were friendly and when I said I want to opt for longer tasting menu they warned me it’ll be lot of food I was ready for it , sommelier was nice and he also warned me when I wanted wine pairing cause there will be 8 glasses ( 5 dry white, 1 red and 2 dessert wine) throughout the service they explain the dishes properly and how these wines pair well with course. Chef greeted every table and diner had small talk with everyone

Let’s talk about food it’s HUMONGOUS lots and lots of food “6 courses” nah felt like 12, after every consecutive course I was getting more anxious if I could even eat it comfortably (I did ). My favourite was bass steak especially with that octopus jus with XO very umami rich sauce I had every drop of that sauce and the lamb game meat with jam and eggplant was just PERFECT and on side it was. Tomato steak and I personally love anything tomatoes and the dessert omg it’s basically never ending journey 3 part dessert ( each part has 3 dessert) I’m definitely skipping the dinner today I understand why so many recommend this restaurant especially for lunch

  1. Probably at the top of my list for my next visit to Paris. I need to experience these main courses with satellite dishes

It sounds like you had a great time in Paris, OP 👍

I think the closest you can get to going wrong with PG is if you get the odd flavour combination that doesn’t quite work for you (there are going to be a lot of flavours over the meal, after all).

Aside from that, tons of different foods, top tier cooking, generous pairings with very good wines, and not super pricey by 3* standards, plus you meet the man himself…not trying to sound gushing but it is very hard not to enjoy it. You even save money with the lunch because you never need dinner after.
