Last DC stop, wanted to thank this sub for the recommendations we found. I am not entirely sober (rather the opposite) and wanted to get this out while it’s still fresh on my taste buds.

I forgot that I was only able to secure a late reservation – we typically try to dine around 7. As such we accidentally may have arrived an hour early. We spent the first hour at the Amazonia bar with absolutely fantastic service from our bar tender. We tried several cocktails only available to the Amazonia portion, all of which were fantastic before transitioning over to Causa.

At Causa we were seated at the bar where we very quickly connected with the bar tender, Andy. By about a third of the way through our dining, Andy took over as the main server guiding us through our journey. I thought this was a subtle and yet wonderful transition – our server was fantastic but Andy took time to talk not only about each course but also his time at Causa and the various changes and growths since joining the staff.

Poorly pictured: Once again the Wagyu course as I got excited and started digging in. The beef cheek was the highlight imo.

Pictured but not on menu: Dry aged fatty tuna with coarse wasabi and mini peppers (amazing add on if you enjoy sashimi, highly recommended)

Highlights: There was no dish I did not enjoy, but my favorite had to be the Okinawa potato and truffles.

I think I would actually rate the overall experience and taste higher than yesterday’s Dabney experience. There were no flaws or misses for us. Highly recommend.
