Not the greatest picture ever, but gottdamn these were the best tacos I've ever made.

  • ingredients –
1 white onion – medium size
    1 jalapeno
    4 cloves of garlic
    All chopped finely

1 block of firm or extra firm tofu, patted dry

Heat a pan to medium, when hot add olive oil

Squish tofu down so that it starts crumbling into jagged chunks and start frying the chunks.
I usually start seasoning as soon as the chunks have settled in the pan
– spices –
Fajita mix seasoning (I use fiesta brand)
Smoked coarse sea salt
Ground black pepper corns
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Smoked paprika
Chili powder (apply liberally)
Cumin (use slightly less of this than the others)

Fry for roughly 10 – 12 min, ~5ish min per side, flip and another round of seasoning on the other side. Keep in mind second side will cook faster.

Once done, push all tofu to the side of the pan and reposition the pan so the heat is on one half. Add chopped ingredients and fry until soft/translucent.
I usually add cumin, fajita mix and chili powder to the veggies. When done mix everything up in the pan and remove from heat.

Slice avocado and some chopped cilantro and your fav hot sauce (this one is habanero avocado)

This will be good with any tortilla, but real ones know that yellow corn heated in a dry pan is the best 🤌🏻

Maybe a little basic, but my fam can't get enough and these are weekly classic for us.
