I loooooooove homemade pesto!! I used to make it with pine nuts but they’re so freaking expensive that now I usually make it with walnuts, I toast them first. My daughter says she can barely register the difference. I also mix in other herbs if I don’t have enough basil on hand, usually cilantro but sometimes parsley too, I grow them all l year round but my basil doesn’t always thrive because my daughter “grazes”.
