Recently visited Core by Clare Smyth for a Friday lunch. After having visited the Fat Duck and L’Enclume the days prior I felt that Core was the best of the three. The room is elegant, the service is extremely quick and almost every dish was a hit (one dessert being the exception). Overall, I was truly blown away by the entire experience. Core is a must visit when in London.
Also, Core allows you to choose different menus for the same table. We greatly appreciated this as it allowed us to explore the entire menu in one meal. A small detail, but as both menus are the same length, Core make sure that each menu has a similar protein for each course (ex. the lamb and venison are served simultaneously) which makes the experience extremely smooth.
Tip : Lunch reservations are much easier to get than dinner reservations and serve the same menus

Mm, I went there a while back and it was outstanding, from the welcome to the goodbyes and being led to the kitchen to meet Smyth.
That lamb dish (pic 11) is still one of the finest meat dishes I’ve ever had, not just for the perfectly cooked lamb and the intensely rich sauce but for that stunningly fresh puree. Probably the best restaurant in London at the moment.
Went two years ago and thought it was exceptional. Looks like many of the same or similar dishes here which is not a bad thing just that it looks like they focus on getting their dishes really honed in with less focus on seasonality across the whole menu. I definitely put it high on the list for anyone going to London.
