is this chipotle? if so it might be to differentiate between sofritas and just the fajita veggies/just beans or whatever.

its just how the systems charge for menu items. i wouldnt read anything into it.

I JUST ordered a pizza and the person asked me the same thing.

Maybe it’s just verbiage on some pizza restaurant business ordering software.

Weird phrasing. I was thinking I’ve got cheese, that’s got protein.

The way restaurants refer to meats (and occasiomally tofu) as if they’re the only protein feels like meat industry propaganda. Like you’re not getting a real meal without some kind of meat.

It just show how rigidly the average person think of vegetarian food as being devoid of protein.

  6. We don’t expect people who enter product descriptions to have a degree in biology. All whole vegetable products contain some amount of protein, it’s just this that amount varies. I expect the burrito to have legumes, which are great sources of protein, so the description is incorrect.

  7. Typical phrasing to avoid having to acknowledge an animal died to make this food. Don’t call it meat, call it protein and you don’t have to think about the source.

  8. Lol so beans are not protein then eh? Most places I know of nowadays at least acknowledge that things like tofu and beans are a protein source. These people are trapped in the 90s.

  9. I work in the food industry, proteins they’re referring to are meat which are higher in cost. Beans are just another ingredient compared to how expensive meat is so their system flags no meat as no protein
