Had the pleasure of dining at the Uriarte location last Saturday. The fifth photo is sweetbread and was served as an extra to avoid confusion between the menu and the photos.

Service was quite good, the staff spoke English pretty well and they offered leftover steak and short rib slices which I was happy to indulge in.

The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the blood sausage which was more UK style than Argentinian but the chorizo was really good. I think they gave me 2x sweetbread and 2x blood/chorizo because other couples got the same quantity to split.

For $71 I’m thinking about returning before I leave in a couple of weeks.

This is on the same tier as Aramburu and Chila (RIP). Don Julio is mid (I’ve been there a handful of times and they’re wildly inconsistent). La Cabrera used to have the best steak in BsAs but they’ve gone to shit over the years.

Hope this is helpful and informative. At this time reservations are not hard to come by but you will have to wait for 2 hours outside of Don Julio (lol) or books months in advance.

  1. fabulous! I’ve been to Aramburo and just visited BA 3 weeks ago. Tried La Cabrera, Don Julio and El Preferido de Palermo. Will definitely try to book Fogon Asado next. Thanks for the review.
