After watching the Forks episode of The Bear, husband and I booked Ever (where the episode was shot) for my birthday dinner last week. Not sure I’d go back. Wasn’t super wowed, but then again, most of all our Michelin starred experiences happen in the EU

Started with cocktails at After, their cocktail bar. (First three photos are from there)

Then you are taken thru their adjoining lounge into the entryway of Ever (pic with aperitifs sitting on the wall)

Ten courses total:
1) Oscietra Grand Reserve Caviar (hazelnut, honeydew, lemon balm)
2) Frozen, rolled hamachi (finger lime, ginger, blue basil)
3) Asparagus (smoked trout, citrus, oxalis)
4) Scallop (coconut, squash, nasturtium)
5) Pork Cheek (artichoke, speck, chive)
6) Lamb (parsnip, plum, yarrow)
7) Miyazaki (date, pickle, black mint)
8) Banana (hibiscus, passion root, fennel)
9) Chocolate (jasmine, strawberry, marigold)
10) Belgium waffle (not pictured)

The butters and breads were wonderful and abundant!

We did also have the wine pairing. Overall, a nice experience, but probably won’t go back as we have plenty of other Michelin starred locations here in Chicago we’ve yet to visit.
