They have an additional 4th green “star” for sourcing their ingredients locally and sustainable. Very nice experience. The service was very relaxed, inline with what you would expect from a Berlin Restaurant.

Would recommend to everyone looking for a culinary high.

  1. Looks fantastic, I hope to do it soon.

Edit: if you’ve been to one or more 2 star restaurants, would you say the difference between 2 and 3 stars is huge? Before visiting 2 star restaurants, I underestimated the step up from 1 star in terms of technique and presentation.

  2. I really really enjoyed Rutz. The staff were super friendly and felt like we were being served food by friends. That definitely elevated the whole experience. Food was delicious and fairly unique. They also did a great job of explaining the sources of everything including the wine pairing. Other places do that too but I feel like they really went beyond expectations.

The only thing I wasn’t expecting was for it to take like 6+ hours for the whole meal. Apparently that’s normal in Germany from what a friend told me but that was new to me. It was so lengthy that the couple sitting next to us went outside for a cigarette break between each course! I definitely didn’t pace myself correctly for that and was pretty full by the time the steak course came near the end. Would definitely still recommend it.

Your photos are making me hungry 😋
