I bring these for potlucks with a couple of hard cheeses. It’s easy to keep the ingredients on hand, make (30 minutes or less), transport, and there’s lots of fun taste options like pairing it with smoked [Chex Mix](https://www.lifesatomato.com/2016/11/28/smoked-chex-mix/). Few allergy concerns since the Chex Mix and cheeses are separate from the olives and I always write out what the olives are flavoured with.

I haven’t brought [tea](https://www.delicious.com.au/recipes/smoked-olives/8c636212-0ef6-46d9-b838-c20941faecb0) or [garlicky](https://www.lifesatomato.com/2016/06/23/smoked-olives/) ones home uneaten even though they keep really well, and I always make extra Chex Mix for myself to store in an airtight container.

Sounds neat! They work for lots of different diets, I think, too. I love to bring something that is not likely to be duplicated.

I’m really only familiar with kalamata olives. What are green/black olives like?
