1) Amuse Bouche – Foie Gras cracker. Wife got a dusted pear (gluten free)

2) Crackers with an Avacado based cream

3) Caviar with a Squid Ink Crisp on a heavy cream

4) Wife’s version of Caviar dish but gluten free

5) A “Waldorf Salad of Sorts” with nitrogen poured at the table

6) Lobster with Squash

7) The White Truffle that was to be shaved over our Risotto

8) The suplimental Risotto course with a nice bit of White Truffle

9) Poached Halibut with beets and minced citrus

10) Wagyu Beef. It never fails, whenever a nice chunk of meat comes out they pour a Demi Glaze over it and to me, it kinda overwhelms it. Let’s highlight the quality beef by keeping it simple

11) Gold dessert with Hazelnut, vanilla ice cream and a chocolate powder.

12) Hens Egg. The highlight of the meal was an egg dish that was presented after the Lobster course. I was so excited for it i forgot to take a photo (but I did find this one online) it was a egg wrapped in a parsley gelatin on top of morel mushrooms and cream. It was phenomenal HEAVY!

Michelin finally came to Atlanta and the stars were announced about 2 weeks ago so the wife took me to Atlas for my 37th birthday and we chose to do the tasting menu spur of the moment.

It was good but I dont think it justified the price.

Meal last around 3 hours, both did the tasting menu and they let us split the added course of Risotto and she had one cocktail. With tip: $737

I hope the other places in Atlanta that got their first star don’t hike up the prices too much but it’s bound to inflate a little bit.

Top picks so far in Atlanta are Bacchanalia and Spring.

    I was at Atlas a couple of months ago, and asked a server what she thought about the upcoming Michelin guide. She said they’d be disappointed if they *only* got one star.

    Lazy Betty’s food is more interesting, and it was a more casual atmosphere than Atlas. Not sure if they’ll keep that same vibe in the new space.

    Mujo is the one Atlanta spot that feels like it would have a star in NYC or Chicago. I think Michelin grades on the curve a bit.
