(review) I wanted so much to really like these because of the macros, but honestly they were just …okay. Anybody have suggestions for something I could meal prep with similar cals & protein?

  1. I’ve had their corn dogs and they are much better in the air fryer. These might also have that air fryer benefit

  2. I was disappointed too! Not very much sausage flavor I felt. They’re to expensive to be not amazing.

    Better to just get some good sausage and roll a pancake around it lol

  3. Honestly just make your own with your favorite veggie dog/sausage and pancake batter. It’s pretty easy to make if you look online for corn dog recipes.

    This is not related to your question but quasi-related to the post (imo). If you are just looking for the macros and don’t mind if it’s breakfast food or not, try beyond meat jerky. The snack pouches are 90 calories and 10g protein! I had to read the label 3 times to make sure I was seeing that right when I first tried it! Blew my mind.

    Also the texture is excellent and the closest to the “real thing” I have ever tried, and I’ve tried a LOT of vegan jerky 🙂

I tend to eat half a bottle of Just Egg (I live in Texas and a grocery store local to Texas called HEB offers a $2 off on 2 bottles coupon which every time you buy Just Egg, even with a coupon, a new coupon is printed so rinse and repeat and you have Just Egg now more affordable), 3 morning star sausage patties, 1-2 servings of diced hash brown potatoes as a post-workout meal

    Edit: it comes out to 53-55g protein and normally within 500-600 calories, depends on other things I may or may not add
