I tried the new plant based Beyond Steak in tacos. 170 cals & 21 grams of protein I give it 10/10 rating. One serving made two tacos.

  1. Found this at Walmart. Will definitely be getting this again. Some ideas: carne asada, steak salad, stew, steak bowl w/ chimichurri and grilled veggies…

Pro tip – sear it first and then add sauce. It’s delicious, the only downside is that it’s expensive ($2.33 per serving). But worth it for a nice treat once in a while.

    Not pictured: avocado crema

Tacos: bed of lettuce, low carb mission tortillas, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, avocado slices, lime juice, salt

To make the avocado crema blend Forager unsweetened plain cashew yogurt with avocados, salt, lime juice, cilantro. Drizzle on tacos.

Wow this looks great! Didn’t know they were making this. How was the texture? Think it would be good in a more Asian inspired dish?

    That looks delicious!

I was at a work conference in 2019 when beyond was still kinda emerging and talked to the vendor at the beyond tent. She said her son worked on the development of the plant heme and they were working on steak but having trouble getting the texture right. Idk if they ended up using it, but they were experimenting with using the vascular structure of leaves during production to make a steak-like texture.

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG!!

These look so much more appealing and usable than the gardein beef tips. Usually not a fan of beyond in comparison but for certain recipes, I’d like to try

  5. Funny story, I bought these almost a month ago and my local grocery store because they didn’t know they weren’t supposed to put them out yet 😂 they wouldn’t even scan at the register. They are good!
