Got this bulk container of pearl couscous and the directions are insanely bad. There’s no way this would cook this way!

If you’ve never had Israeli couscous, it’s basically a different shape of pasta. You boil it in lots of water and drain it. 1/4 cup water with 1 cup couscous would leave you with a crunchy mess.

I dunno – that looks close to every couscous recipe I’ve ever prepared. If you add too much water you’re going to end up with porridge. Unlike Italian pastas where you drain the water, the water stays in the prepared couscous recipe.

This is hilarious and I love that you’re getting angry responses ??? I’m guessing they meant 1 1/4 cup water, which is closer to recipes I’ve seen.

Wdym it’s the perfect amount of water so it’d remain crunchy on the inside, how else would you lose teeth chewing through it?

  4. Hi! So you basically add the couscous to boiling water or chicken/vegetable stock in a 1:2 ratio, 1 cup couscous to 2 cups boiling water or chicken/vegetable stock. You can also add 2 tbsp olive or avocado oil and let simmer for 10 minutes 🙂 hope this helps!

Add water, salt, and butter to couscous. Boil water, salt, and butter. Then add couscous.

    What?
